The Hidden Contaminants in Our Tap Water

Many of us take clean, pure drinking water for granted. We assume that since water comes out of our kitchen tap, it must be safe. However, research reveals that there are concerning levels of contaminants in our public water systems.

Chemicals like chlorine, fluoride, pesticides, pharmaceutical drugs, and heavy metals can be present in tap water that meets regulations. This is because current standards only monitor for a limited number of pollutants. There are no legal limits for many emerging contaminants.

Long-term consumption of contaminated water poses health risks including reproductive issues, endocrine disruption, and developmental problems. Sensitive groups like children and pregnant women are especially vulnerable.

So what's the solution for clean drinking water? Reverse osmosis (RO) systems are the most thorough filtration method. RO uses high pressure to force water through a semipermeable membrane, removing particles larger than water molecules.

Studies show RO systems can eliminate up to 99% of contaminants from water by combining physical and chemical filtration. RO removes heavy metals, microplastics, pesticides, bacteria and more.

While no single system can remove 100% of pollutants, RO provides the best defense against the many unseen toxins in our tap water. Protect yourself and your family by installing an RO system for guaranteed clean, healthy drinking water.

For 10 years, our family relied on bottled water and basic pitchers filters like Brita and PUR to improve the taste and purity of our tap water. Two years ago we finally installed a reverse osmosis (RO) system and the difference is remarkable. It was through a local water company, and they only use their own systems, but it's a 5-stage filtration system and it's beyond amazing. The water from our new RO system tastes incredibly fresh and clean. And by filtering at the sink, we avoid the inconvenience and plastic waste of bottled options. After drinking our purified RO water for some time, we were offered bottled water at an event and found the taste unappealing in comparison.

Clearly our RO system is doing its job to thoroughly filter out impurities that leave an aftertaste. While RO systems carry a higher upfront cost than pitchers or faucet filters, they pay for themselves over time by eliminating the need to continually buy bottled water or filter cartridges.

For our family, investing in an RO system provided huge quality of life improvements through better tasting, healthier water. We wish we had made the switch years ago! Advanced filtration is a game changer for purifying your home's water. So whether you get a system installed by a professional water company, or buy one from amazon (and have someone who can install it for you), you really should get it. Your health depends on it.
